Redesign!

5 Aug

Last week, I posted about how stressed and angsty I was trying to redesign the school paper.

Well, it was a super stressful and angsty time, but now it’s done! The paper is printed and the whole thing is beautiful. (Although, of course, there are things I want to change for next time – life of a perfectionist). As promised, a before-and-after.

The left image is the penultimate issue from last spring, the right is the one we just published a couple of days ago. Hooray for redesigns!

Thoughts and opinions on newspapers are always welcome 🙂

That’s a powerful masthead and a page that’s much easier for the eye to follow. Good stuff.

It makes me wish we had time to do cutouts these days…

Oh it is beautiful! A much better font choice for the masthead and I love how professional the teasers look at the top instead of lining the side. Also, I wish you would do a cutout as gorgeous as that one for every issue 🙂 I would put a bit more more vertical leading (space between lines of text) at the top just for increased readability. It may mean shrinking the font point size slightly. But overall, incredible job!!!

At the top as in with the teasers? Or just space the whole flag out more?

And thanks! I’m really excited about it!

From “The Gonzaga” on down. Everything above that looks perfect.
